I’ve already written about the Dubai Design District, the home of Craft Café and a new Japanese restaurant, Yui. My first visit to D3 was to visit One Life Kitchen and Café – and I wasn’t disappointed.
One Life offers fresh, light and tasty food at excellent prices. It is one of those cafés that could be in London or Melbourne – the worries and heat of Dubai melt away when you walk inside. Its menu boasts a range of treats, many of them healthy, including a range of vegan and vegetarian options, organic cold pressed juices and various coffee and tea choices. While it isn’t the biggest menu around, it does provide for all diet preferences.
I’ve been back to One Life three times now, which makes it a Dubai favourite! We are located in Business Bay, and it’s just a short drive to get to D3, which has plenty of free parking. I’ve sampled several of their delicious sandwiches, with both the seared steak tenderloin and grilled chicken hitting the spot. In the winter, I’m looking forward to enjoying a meal outside… although I think I’ll pass on that option for the time being!
The café itself has a minimalist, modern design with a relaxed and inviting atmosphere. The decor includes lovely Enable succulents and a vertical garden featuring the café logo. The staff are friendly and happy to answer questions about the food and allergies. It also has a great ranges of magazines and books for you to peruse… with the books available mirroring many of my favorites at home.
If you work in the Design District, you’re probably already aware of this gem, but I’d recommend you take a trip out to D3 to sample its light and fresh fare. My only comment would be to go early if you are wanting to try the counter food – many of the yummiest treats seem to run out earlier in the day (a testament to their deliciousness!). One Life also offer takeout, catering and delivery, through Deliveroo.

Tips: While the cold pressed juices are small, they are actually pretty filling – particularly the ones with almond milk. You can take a look at the size of them on the counter before deciding whether to buy.
